Esther, from Walsall, West Midlands, has enrolled on an Open University course months after she passed her A-levels - and wants to study for a PhD before running her own bank.

Boko Haram: 158 kidnapped victims reunite with families in Yobe

A total of 158 Women and children abducted by Boko Haram insurgents from Katarko village in Yobe have been reunited with their families in Damaturu, Yobe. The victims were released by the sect members after three weeks of captivity. Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the secret trip made today, by the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd)  to the United Kingdom (UK) enroute United States of America (USA) for medical treatment has shown that the APC leaders, especially Senator Bola Tinubu were covering up his (Buhari) true health status for their selfish gains.

INEC chairman appears before the Senate to explain election postponement

INEC Chairman Prof. Jega appeared before the National Assembly yesterday  afternoon to explain why the election was postponed and also demonstrate how they would use card readers during the elections.

Speaking to members of the Senate, Prof Jega talked about politicians who are rumoured to have bought PVCs in some parts of Nigeria like in Ebonyi state where about 300 PVCs were stolen. He said that stealing PVCs is an exercise in futility as the cards would be useless during elections.

He said those who have stolen cards are only disenfranchising people as only those with credible PVC's would be accredited during the elections. Continue...

The Nigeria Police says President Jonathan was not the target of the bomb blast that happened outside the Pantami stadium, venue of the PDP Presidential rally in Gombe state earlier today.
