FG in closed door meeting with parents of missing Chibok girls

The Federal government this morning had a closed door meeting with parents of the over 200 missing Chibok girls in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, where they were briefed on recent efforts by the government and the Nigerian military to rescue their daughters. The girls were abducted by Boko Haram members in their school, Government Secondary School in Chibok, Bornu state on April 14th.

AIT now suing Tinubu for N100billion

Bola Tinubu's media office released a statement on Monday saying they are set to sue Daar Communications, owners of AIT for what he said was a defamatory content of a documentary aired on Sunday about him on their station. Tinubu asked the TV station to retract the documentary, issue a letter of apology and demanded N20billion as cost of damage done to his reputation.

Well, AIT has counter-sued Tinubu. They are asking him to apologize for telling them to apologize to him when they were only just doing their job..lol. They are also asking for N100billion for injury inflicted on AIT. Choi! Lawyers go chop money anyhow. See AIT's press statement after the cut..

Benue state commissioner slumps, dies at 46

Benue State Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mr. Aondowase Chia has died at the age of 46. According to reports, after presenting the annual budget of his ministry to the state Executive Council yesterday Tuesday March 3rd, he returned to his office where he slumped. He was immediately rushed to the Benue State Teaching Hospital Makurdi, Benue state by his aides. He died in the early hours of today.

Born October 27th 1968, Mr Chia was married with eight children. May his soul rest in peace, amen.

Jega Will Go, Heavens Won't Fall - Ayo Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described outbursts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the possible removal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega as "mere comedy," saying; "President Goodluck Jonathan can sack Jega if he wishes and if he does, heavens will not fall."
The governor, who said the APC should stop acting as if Nigeria belongs to the party, added that; "by turning themselves to advocates and defenders of the INEC chairman, the APC and its agents have shown that they have a deal with Jega to manipulate the elections and that the deal will be frustrated if he is asked to leave office."

INEC may reprint ballot papers

There are reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may have to reprint ballot papers for the forthcoming elections to accommodate a political party which was not listed among duly registered parties by the commission, National Mirror reports.
This follows the ruling of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja which  ordered INEC to include the Young Democratic Party (YDP) among duly registered  political parties.

I will not support any interim government & there will be no election annulment says Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says he will not be a part of any plans to constitute an interim government that may be formed after the general elections. According to PMNews, he said this while addressing a group of Concerned Nigerians who had come to allay their fears about the upcoming general elections at his home in Abeokuta, Ogun state this morning. He also said that there is no possibility of the election being annulled
"You need not to worry about anything. There can never be any June 12 annulment again. Buhari is not Abiola, he is a trained and highly intelligent soldier. Oyegun is not Anenih, Osinbajo is not Kingibe. Jega is not Nwosu, Jonathan is not IBB and this time around, Obasanjo will not support any interim government. Obasanjo will rather support a free, fair and credible election.”he said

N11bn Scam: Ex-Kogi Gov Audu attacks EFCC operative in court

A former governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, who is being prosecuted at a Federal Capital Territory High Court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, for his alleged involvement in a contract scam to the tune of eleven billion naira, today threw decorum to the dogs when he ordered his security aide (a police officer) to assault an operative of the EFCC, Haruna Ashade, for daring to take his photograph in court.
